The Historic Landmarks Committee recently voted to approve an application seeking to include the Plaza. This application, meticulously prepared by Patrick O'Rourke and Jeanette Cooper, a member of the committee and Cal Poly Humboldt's Cultural Resources Facility, highlights the Plaza's rich history and its enduring role as a community center. The committee aims to add the block bounded by 8th, 9th, H, and G streets, capturing the essence of the green space at its heart.
